Bollington – A fabulous place to live and work

Adelphi Mill and Clarence Mill are located within Bollington near Macclesfield, Both mills benefit from the local community which operate their businesses outside of the mill but are located within walking distance, these include fine quality Butchers, Bakers, Banks, Post Office, supermarket, Garages, Pubs, Restaurants, Crèches, nurseries and Schools, printers, florists, hair dressers, doctors surgery, to name but a few.

Both mills are located in Cheshire and are situated on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park this allows access to one of Britain’s finest areas of natural beauty, there are many stunning aspects to the village one of which is the many fine walks around the town, a well known one is the Middlewood way walk which runs from Macclesfield right through the centre of Bollington on a former disused railway line to Marple this old line has now been converted to a large nature trail, Adelphi and Clarence mills are located adjacent to this walkway and it is used heavily by the mills commercial and residential tenants for leisure and sports activities.

Both are also situated next to the Macclesfield Canal this is the highest navigable canal waterway in England. Narrow boating is a major tourist attraction to the area and there are a number of canal boats for day hire available locally, canoeing, running, walking and cycling are also very popular recreational activities also there are a number of super golf courses and high end fitness centres.

Fine Cuisine - Bollington boasts a number of fine restaurants and numerous public houses and hotels which cater for a wide variety of tastes.

Bollington is also famous for "White Nancy" This 5 meter high landmark standing on the top of Kerridge Hill overlooking Bollington is visible for miles around.
White Nancy was actually built as a summer house by the Gaskell family, who lived at Ingersley Hall, in about 1815. It is stone built with external rendering and regularly painted white in order to maintain its visibility. It is thought that it may have been built at that time to commemorate the battle of Waterloo.

Parks, Bollington has two beautiful parks and a recreation ground which is currently running for Green flag status; the highest accolade achieved for parks, the recreation ground is located adjacent to Clarence mill.
